María L. Montalvo-Vera is a founding Member of AMRC.
Ms. Montalvo-Vera has managed and successfully resolved numerous claims involving healthcare, telecommunications, construction, and commercial matters in local courts and the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.
Ms. Montalvo-Vera handles complex civil litigation at all levels, trial and appellate, before the courts of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Her trial experience includes cases on: trust and estate law, telecommunications, breach of contract (non compete and non solicitation clauses) and various tort actions. Ms. Montalvo-Vera has also been trial counsel for defendants in preliminary injunction hearings under the telecommunication law before local courts. She also regularly represents reference laboratories, radiology laboratories, pharmacies and doctors before the Puerto Rico Health Department in administrative proceedings regarding permits and endorsements.
Of the many cases Ms. Montalvo-Vera has litigated, the following published opinions are representative of her success in her practice areas: IG Builders Corporation v. 577 Headquarters Corporation, 185 D.P.R. 307 (2012); CRIM v. Méndez Torres, 174 D.P.R. 216 (2008); Márquez v. Puerto Rico Telephone Company, 183 D.P.R. 666 (2011).
